It is exciting to announce we will begin hosting monthly meetings again starting this Thursday February 24th! Let’s plan for some social time starting around 5-5:30, plan to have a bite to eat together, and then get into some Club planning for 2022!!! Hoping all Members available can attend and the invitation is always open for all who are curious to come join us at 30 Old County Road in Veazie on the bank of the Penobscot River.
The 2022 Cabin Fever Reliever Show is on at the Brewer Auditorium this coming weekend of the 26th and 27th! VZSC is proud to be hosting a table with fun information and prizes! That said we desperately need Member volunteers to come help support our Club table. Shows like this really help showcase our Club and generate very well needed revenue! Even if you can only volunteer a few hours every bit of support will help, so please come help our Club! If you are a fly tyer please bring the vice and some materials! It is always a fun show!!!!!
We just came off a very cold stretch of winter during which the Club suffered a $650 oil bill, increased electricity bill, plus unplanned repairs related to frozen pipes and toilet. Warning signs are always up, but Members must remember not to leave the bathroom door closed when leaving the Club. We have some heat tape, but the primary heat source remains in the main room. Expensive repairs included a new water meter, toilet, and piping which the Club just cannot afford at this time. A private donation from a generous Member helped offset a large percentage of the expense.
Some fun exciting news to share is this week we processed over 15 new and renewal memberships! Interest and inquiries about the Veazie Salmon Club have been strong and this really helps with the expensive winter operating months! Thanking all for renewals and welcome to all New Members. Membership cards and other materials are into the mail so be on the lookout and sport those window stickers with pride! Orders are also underway for new inventories of Veazie Salmon Club logo mugs and hats plus other outer wear.
