March 27 – Club Meeting Minutes

March’s Club Meeting was attended by a over 20+ Members from as far away as Houlton and MDI! We gathered for a delicious chicken alfredo, garlic bread, and garden salad dinner. Business news followed our meal in which President Andy Fitzpatrick went through the fiscal and operational health of the Club.

Highlights from Andy were the generous donation and time from a local member who offset plowing and salt costs by dedicating his time and fuel to keep the yard open. Members and affiliate organizations reserved the Club for private events that generated solid donations. The Club is current on all bills, annual insurance has been renewed, and Andy said the Club is in great shape heading into spring of 2025.

Three big business topics were discussed too;

  1. We need more Member & Officer participation! Updating the website, Club cleaning, Member outreach, and bookkeeping are just a few of the many activities that requires alot of effort. Many hands would make much lighter work!
  2. An Annual Opening Day Breakfast in early May was discussed and a day will be set on the calendar. This is a Saturday morning event in which all local communities are invited to attend. The breakfast is free to all and we ask is a donation plus we try to have some great raffle items and a 50/50. Again we need volunteers!
  3. We discussed a potential for a spring yard sale to try and raise some revenue. Fathers Day weekend the town of Veazie offers a free weekend in which there is usually huge local participation. With some volunteers we might get some great traffic and generate some well needed revenue!

Thanks to All who attended and looking forward to seeing everyone at your Veazie Salmon Club!
