Portland, ME – Join ASF, Oxbow Brewing, and Allpoints Fly Shop on October 10th for the International Fly
Fishing Film Festival. The event starts at 6:30 at Oxbow’s brewery on Washington Avenue. It’s free of
charge, but people who donate to wild Atlantic salmon conservation in Maine will have their name
entered into a draw for fishing gear and swag!
The event will last approximately two hours and will include a short talk from ASF’s Jeff Reardon about
how river restoration in the state is adding millions of fish to local waterways.
Highlighted films of the festival include:
– Dollar Dog: Delves into the story of a special dog and Atlantic salmon in Nova Scotia.
– Crouching Tiger, Hidden Damsel: Features oversized tiger trout, a significant damsel fly hatch,
and a secluded mountain lake.
– Of the Sea: Follows brothers as they uncover the mysteries of Banco Chinchorro off the coast of
Xcalak, Mexico.
– Jacks: Showcases giant trevally launching their attacks from the deep ocean.
– Father Nature: Chronicles a guided trip on the Snake River within the breathtaking Grand Teton
National Park.
– A Slam that Saves: Highlights four unique species of bass native to the Appalachians.
Proceeds from the event will help support Atlantic salmon recovery in Maine. ASF believes that if people
work together we can restore healthy populations and reopen one of America’s most unique fisheries.
